The 360 Modena was launched in 1999 under the guidance of the Ferrari boss Luca Di Montezemolo to fill the gap between the earlier F355 and the F430 that appeared later in 2005.
The most significant part of this car was the material used. Ferrari partnered with the American aluminium giant ALCOA to use an aluminium sheet that was not just 30% lighter in weight but tougher by 40% compared to the steel used in the previous model. Nearly 9000 of these were produced for 6 years starting from 1999.
