Ferrari 250 Europa Coupe – Vignale Scale - 1:18

Luigi Chinetti was an Italian racing driver who participated in several Le Mans and 24-hour Spa races. After a successful career in Europe, he migrated to the USA, where he settled down as the exclusive distributor of Ferrari cars.

Ferrari, at the beginning of the 1950's, introduced the 250 Europa model. With only 22 units scheduled for production, Chinetti commissioned Vignale to make one car for him out of the four that coachbuilder Vignale received.

What Carrozerria Vignale produced for Chinetti was an absolute masterpiece. With a pronounced front-grille, this coupe car had headlamps that looked like roving "eyes" and turning front indicators that were positioned on the front wings. A shining metallic chrome strip around the car's body, from the front wheel arches to the trunk area, gave the impression of a long car.

The car was delivered to Chinetti in New York in 1953.
