With a FIAT made 8210.21 diesel engine, this truck model, FIAT 170 was also marketed as OM* in Switzerland, and was produced during the years 1975-1984. Part of the FIAT VI series of trucks these models were preferred by long-haul transport operators because of her new generation driver cabins.
These series of trucks were nicknamed baffo (in Italian, moustache) because of her front grille.
The Ferrari Scuderia Racing Team used this truck model as a transporter to carry their F1 cars, spares and mechanics to various race tracks in Europe.
