Produced during the years 1960-1993, the D/W series of Dodge was sold as Dodge D-100, D-200 or D-300 depending on the length of the bed.
These pick-up trucks were also used by the civilian airline division of the Argentinian Air Force, known as Lineas Aereas del Estado (LADE). They also operated this flight from the mainland to the disputed island of Malvinas (popularly known to the Western world as the Falkland Islands).
The LADE designated Dodge pick-ups with powerful V8 engines were used to ferry people arriving at the airport with luggage on the island until 2nd April, 1982 when war broke out between the UK (who have been occupying the islands since 1833) and the government of Argentina who sent the first batch of commandos to retake the island. Eventually Argentina lost the Falklands War with huge casaulties.
