The American company named Diamond made a 980 tractor which was used as a ballast model (a tractor that can haul heavy loads) and was primarily sold to the British army and few that were purchased by the US Army.
Known as T ballast the tractor had a Hercules made 14.8 litre engine under its bonnet which when coupled with low gear could haul up to 52 tons of load.
Many of these models were sold by the British Army after the war and Wynn’s ( a well known UK based haulage firm operating since 1863) brought several of these models and used them to haul goods across the country.
