One of the most famous marquee brand coming from the stable of Daimler, the Majestic Major was a car that was longer by 6 inches than her predecessor, the Daimler Majestic.
Introduced in 1959, this car had all the opulence that Daimler could provide including usage of a special leather material called Vaumol (a special hide that used a two-layer colour coating with first layer of cellulose-based colour and a second layer that was applied manually with spray-gun), adjustable steering, folding table for rear passengers, even a hand-throttle provided on the dashboard and having a “V” motif specially made on the radiator grille to signify her massive V8 OHV 4.5 litre engine having dual carburettors.
This car was produced between 1959 and 1968 before Jaguar took over the firm.
