The DAEWOO Cielo was actually an Opel Kadett, that was exported to the USA as Daewoo LeMans. The Cielo sold in several countries under various names such as the Daewoo Racer, Daewoo Nexia, Daewoo Fantasy, Daewoo Optima and Pontiac LeMans.
In India, DCM Toyota started making them in 1995 at their Surajpur (near Noida, UP) and was a competition to the Maruti Esteem.
