The bus model Commando was made by Commer specifically to transport passengers between airport terminals and the city centre. For foreign crew members to have a better view of the city, an observation deck with raised height was created inside the coach along with luggage holding area for carrying baggage of 20 people.
This vehicle was also put into use by the Royal Air Force (RAF) to carry her personnel. BOAC (erstwhile British Airways) also used them.
Few were also sold by Commer to South African Airways (SAA). This 1:76 metal model is an exact rendition of the same.
