Produced for nearly 35 years this van from Citroen was perhaps one of the most iconic vans that was not just in design but also for its usefulness and simplicity. Coming in several variants almost 5 lakh of them were produced since 1947 at Citroen’s factories in France and Belgium.
This Type H van had a tall roof (almost 6 feet long that was very much suitable as a Horse carrier) as the floor of the van was very close to the ground. With a front wheel drive and independent suspension, this van was the work-horse of Belgians and the French. From the designing aspect, it had the flavour of World War II, as designers used a distinctive corrugated sheet panel that not only enforced strength because of its ribs but also reminded them of the famous German aircraft Junkers on which such sheet panel were first used.
This van is an exact replica of the original and could transport 2 horses or cows.
