The Citroen Type 23RU series was showcased by André Citroën at an automobile show in Paris in 1937. Appearing in 1941, this model was the longest producing vehicle by Citroén and manufacturing ended in 1969.
It was designated as Type 23 as it could carry a payload of 1500 kg and considering the total weight i.e. 2300 kg. The letter 'U' stood for Utility.
