The Citroen built GS was a family saloon car that sold for over 15 years. First introduced in 1970, it’s development however began in 1956. This car filled the gap between the basic Citroen Ami and the luxury Citroen DS models. A hatchback version called the GSA was introduced, a decade later.
This model became so popular that production besides France was facilitated in several countries – in Europe (Portugal, Spain and erstwhile Yugoslovia), Asia (Indonesia and Thailand), Africa (South Africa and Mozambique) to distant Chile in South America. Over 25 lakh cars were produced.
This model’s luxury version saloon car was called the Citroen GS Pallas.
