Citroen 5CV Scale - 1:18

Designed by André Citroen, the 5CV model (also called the 5 HP model) was the second car model that came up after Citroen started producing cars. This model was developed at a time when Europe was in bad shape after the end of World War II, as most economies were in bad shape. So, to offer customers a less expensive solution than the expensive cars that were above 10 hp, the 5CV model was introduced with an 800 cc engine in 1922.

To offer more value to customers, André Citroen introduced a few things: spare parts manuals, repair cost price list, etc. This model soon became so popular that over 81,000 units were produced in the next four years.

The popularity of this boat-tail shaped model led to Opel duplicating it in every form by introducing the Opel 4 PS – Laubfrosch.
