Used for the first time as a display piece model in 1940, the name Newport was used by Chrysler for a number of models made during the years 1961 – 1981.
This 1963 Chrysler Newport was restyled alongside the New Yorker and Chrysler 300 but had a marked difference i.e. tail-fins were eliminated . With a massive 5.9 litre V8 engine, the customer had the choice of either buying one with a manual transmission or a 3-speed TorqueFlite automatic transmission.
