James Bond author, Ian Fleming's book Chitty Chitty Bang Bang was made in to a musical adventure movie having the same title, in 1968.
It's about an eccentric inventor who makes a car that can go on road, fly as well as float in the water. A villain tries to steal this car and in the process kidnaps the father of the inventor. The children try to save their grandfather but fail to do so and are also put in to the prison The other members of the family finally locate the missing ones and rescue them.
The exotic car in the movie was originally designed by the film’s production designer Ken Adams who asked British sports racing team of Alex Mann to construct one. The car with a 3-litre Ford made V6 engine also had a bonnet that was made of aluminium, the boat deck was constructed out of cedar wood. Fittings inside the car were borrowed from disused vintage cars and the dashboard plate was of an old aircraft.
A unique collectible that comes with the figurines.
