First debuting in 1966, Chevrolet’s Camaro was based on a General Motors newly developed F-body platform. The idea to develop this model was to counter the sales of Ford made Mustang’s that was growing rapidly. Chevrolet therefore offered the customer various engine options such as the 3.8 litre, 4.1 litre and even one with 5.0 litre.
Chevrolet Camaro SS is a newer development of the original Camaro with more powerful engine options.
In May, 2013, the Dubai Police was handed over a new Camaro SS with a powerful 6.2 litre, V8 engine. The function was attended by the top police brass. Major General Khamis Mattar Al Mazeina (now belated) who accepted the keys from the President of GM Middle East also presented a Dubai Police plaque in return. The car was supplied by Al Ghandi Auto who are General Motors distributors for Dubai.
