French firm Chausson who built these APU-53 model under the Saviem label delivered the last of the Municipality buses (RATP) meant for the city of Paris.
Primarily meant for commuter transport, several variants were build over the years such as APVU 1/2/3 with Somua diesel engines and APVU 5 with Spanish Hispano diesel engines.
