Boulton Paul - Defiant Mk I - RAF Scale -

Built by Boulton Paul Aircraft, the Defiant Mk1 was an interceptor aircraft that played multiple roles as a night-fighter, trainer, electronic countermeasure, etc..

The Defiant Mk1 was designed by John Dudley North, who also designed the Overstrand and Sidestrand planes, and was known by its nicknames "Daffy" and "turret fighter." It carried a crew of two, including the pilot and the gunner, and was equipped with 4 x 7.7mm Browning machine guns. Between 1937 and 1939, more than a thousand units were produced for Australia, Canada, Poland, and the Royal Air Force (RAF).

This scale model is a rendition of the one that was in use with Squadron 151 based at RAF Station in Wittering, Cambridgeshire, Great Britain.
