The Bofors 40 mm, developed in the late 1930s was an anti-aircraft gun designed by Swedish arms maker, AB Bofors. Still used in the 21st century by many African and Central America countries, this gun is the longest running artillery piece still in use even after passage of 75 years.
This gun used by Western Allied troops was hugely successful during the World War II. This gun was also used extensively during the 1965 India-Pakistan war.
