Public transport in Marseille, France is managed by a municipality owned firm called the Régie des transports de Marseille (known as RTM).
Between 1971-1972, the RTM procured about 50 buses of the model Berleit PH100. The Berliet PH range of buses were introduced in 1961. This happened at a time when the French government in order to stop the influx of foreign made buses encouraged local manufacturers to make buses and all incentives were given for local produce.
With a 10 litre engine, these PH-100 buses were quite popular.
