The Berliet GBC series was one of the most successful truck series made by the truck and bus manufacturer. When first launched it had the French army in Algeria (Algeria was then ruled by France) in mind and therefore the trucks were run through the Sahara desert in an expedition run. Soon these models were being made in Algeria, Portugal and even far distant China.
The 8KT variant was developed for the military with an engine that could do with multi-fuel. Though most of the trucks were troop carriers, several of them were also used for other utility purposes such as fire tenders, aircraft refuellers, tankers, tipper, etc.
This metal model is a rendition of a truck that was used by the army as a Breakdown Truck.
