The Bedford QL was a series of trucks that were produced only during the World War II (1941-1945). With a Bedford made 6-cylinder 3.5 litre petrol engine, these trucks had a payload capacity of 3 tons.
Several variants were produced. These included - QLB for carrying Bofors gun tractor, QLC for fuel tankers, QLR was produced for the Signals (telecommunication) and QLT as a troop carrier.
This variant called the QLD was a general service cargo truck that was also converted into a machine shop, field kitchen and as a portable storage for batteries. These trucks were used extensively by the Royal Air Force (RAF).
