Throughout his career Italian designer Giovanni Michelotti designed more than 1100 cars for almost all car manufacturers in Italy and the rest of Europe. This unique model is one more that Michelotti created with the assistance of his former colleague, Alfredo Vignale with whom he worked (later) as an independent consultant.
Both Vignale and Michelotti knew that their client was an American so they designed the car giving sharper angles, rather than relying on curves which was the (then) trend in Europe. They used BMW’s first 3.2 litre V8 engine, BMW 507 for the creation. This car would do little over 200 km/hr.
This one-off model named BMW 3200 was presented to the public in 1959, during an Auto show. Today this car sits in the world-famous Blackhawk Museum, in USA .
