Austin 1800 Mk2 - Cheshire Police Scale - 1:43

Wolseley as a brand has a long history. This brand was also the pet marque of Herbert Austin who was the Managing Director of the Wolseley Tool & Motor Co. for 5 years before he founded his firm The Austin Motor Company Limited.

Many years later the Wolseley Six rolled in to the market in 1972 as a replacement for the earlier made 18/85 model. Part of the project code name ADO17, the Wolseley Six was available in 4-speed manual as well as automatic transmission. The Wolseley Six with her 6-cylinder 2227 cc engine with twin carburettor gave an output of 110 HP.

Designed by well-known British automotive designer Sir Alex Issigonis, who had earlier designed the Mini, Morris Minor and the Morris Oxford (Hindustan Landmaster) this car with all the comforts was meant for the company top executive who appreciated the best.

The model continued until 1975, when it was replaced by model Wolseley 18-22. Over 25,000 were produced.

This Austin 1800 model, the Mark II or Mk2 was used for patrolling by Cheshire, UK police.
