A former dealer of Borgward cars in Germany, Automobilwerk Walter Schätzle or AWS manufactured these microcar's for just one year starting from 1973. Walter Schätzle, the owner himself designed it as he felt there was a market to have a cheaper car that could comfortably sit 4 adults.
So using a steel frame that was made of square tubes he connected them using angled brackets. Plain sheet metal sheets were used as body panels and other internal items of Goggomobil was used. Glas made 2-stroke 300 cc engine was used and this car weighed about 400 kg when lifted.
About 1400 of these were produced.
